Very cool. We’ve (my community of friends, techies, and co-workers) have all talked about the ability to track bluetooth devices to deliver an interactive experience based on the information we find hidden within their electronic souls, er, storage system. The folks at www.bluetoothtracking.org are doing it.

Along with the obvious marketing potential, it would be very easy to imagine an amazing interactive experience based on the data the system collects. As the site mentions, with four sensors, the system can roughly calculate the speed at which someone travels through it, but that’s clearly the tip of the iceberg.

These folks are going to get a ton of calls. Who’s first? http://www.bluetoothtracking.org
