Netflix now for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad

Media_httpa1phobosapp_ffart

I have a Netflix subscription, and while I've never had a DVD sent to me, my iPhone is the device I have with me most often. With the release of the iPhone & iPod Touch version of the Netflix software, I can now watch movies anytime, anywhere. Bitchin'.

Sven Wingquist. Self-Aligning Ball Bearing. 1907

Media_httpwwwmomaorgc_bmzet

Does anyone know where to purchase one of these MOMA Store ball bearing paperweights? It's no longer available in the store, and I've been searching high (ebay) and low (google), but I can't find it offered anywhere. I've even contacted the original manufacturer - SKF - but no luck.

If you have any info, please email me: mschultz (at) byteengine (dot) net - THANKS!

UPDATE 9/06/2011: ACQUIRED! :-)

Small collection of F??l??a??s??h?? HTML5 demo sites

These HTML5 demo sites totally bring me back to when Flash was the emergent, new sexy, and everyone had a "labs" page showing off how they could push, pull, twist, and turn it, into doing incredible visual stunts. Enjoy!

Verifying a Posterous Site for Google using a TXT Record

I finally got around to verifying this site on Google, but I had to create a TXT DNS entry. It took two tries to figure it out, so I'm posting this in the hopes that it saves someone some time. I created a TXT record for the root domain (I use Go Daddy), and put the entire text string provided by Google in the value field:

Visualizing Sorting Algorithms

Sortvis

If your users are using a third-party product to make your product usable, you are doing something wrong.

Along with Instapaper, I use Readability to reformat web pages for human (reading) consumption. Apple's Safari 5 browser now includes 'Safari Reader' which reformats web pages by stripping out superflous "visual distractions" (ads, flash, etc.) so you can focus on reading the content. I agree with Lukas Mathis's take on it:

"If your users are using a third-party product to make your product usable, you are doing something wrong."

So true.
